Class Descriptions
Ballet/Tap/Tumbling
An hour Ballet/Tap/Tumbling class designed for 3-5 year olds.
Dancers will begin to learn basic Ballet & Tap techniques.
Jazz/Tap Class
A 1 hour long class for dancers ages 5-7 yrs. This "continued" class allows
children with dance experience the opportunity to build on their dance basics.
Tap
Teaches an awareness of beat, timing and rhythm. Combining the technique of tap dancing with nostalgic to modern styles.
Ballet
A great class for all levels. Develop the fundamentals of dance through control, poise, precision, fluency and grace using the technique and style of ballet.
Pointe
Pointe is an extension of ballet. It requires solid, consistent, and current ballet training coupled with strength in the legs and the core of the dancer's body. Available only to those taking at least two other weekly ballet classes. Subject to pre-requisites.
Jazz
Jazz technique is based on the natural movement of the body and is designed to increase body control and coordination. Routines are set to modern and contemporary music.
Lyrical
Learn music interpretation through sustained extensions and expressive emotion. Lyrical is a type of dance that relies on a direct relationship between the lyrics of various songs/poems and specific dance movements. Subject to pre-requisites.
Hip Hop
Street Dance style integrating jazz technique.
Sing It
This class is designed for 6 to 9 year olds with the focus on
performing with slightly more complex songs, gestures and dramatic scenes. Students will work on learning music from Broadway shows and scenes. They will play "acting games" and learn choreography.
Musical Theatre
Ages 10 and up. This class provides students the opportunity to explore acting exercises, movement for musical theater and singing.
Piano, Guitar, Violin and Cello
Individual 30 minute lessons focusing on theory, technique and
performance and sight reading skills.
Voice
Individual 30 minute voice instruction focusing on voice control,
projection, tone, enunciation and performance skills.
